How to attract more traffic

  • Domain name: Get a decent domain name, so that people can remember easily.

  • Frames: Avoid using frames if you can.

  • Broken Links: Make sure all the links are working properly, there are no broken links.

  •  Keyword Research: Find  which keywords your business will most  likely to benefit from. If you are in the wrong category or use inappropriate keywords you may attract traffic. But is not going to generate any sales for you. 

  • Meta tags:  Meta tags plays an important role in web site submission. Search engines relies on robots , spiders  or wanderers  to crawl the World Wide Web searching for Web pages to index, catalogue, and list in their databases.  They use different algorithms to rank your pages.  Meta Tags plays an important role in how they index your pages.  They are not displayed by browsers. But you can view them using any HTML editors. Meta Tags are placed between <HEAD> and </HEAD>  at the top of your page. There are four t types of meta tags important when promoting your web site. They are:

  1. Title :  Tile of the page, which reflects the contents of the page

  2. Descriptions: Up to  3 sentences about the page contents.

  3. Keywords :It could be keywords or phrases up to 20 .words.

  4. Language : Mostly ignored  by web masters. the default is English. If it is other languages do not forget to change it.

  • Check if your site list is listed. It is better to check whether your site is already listed by some search engines. You can check your or your  competitors' sites as well. Enter your  url eg: http://www.bbc.co.uk. This will tell you the number of search engine  listing  in AltaVisita, Google and HotBot. click here. If it is not listed use add url or add my site to add your web site under the right category.

  • Submit your website: Submit your web site regularly to search engines but do not over submit, because some search engines might penalize you for over submitting. Also particularly submit when you do major changes. To submit manually

Promote your site with banners : Create some attractive banners you can use any suitable  graphical packages like PaintShop Pro, MS  PhotoDraw, etc or online sites such as     . Once you have created your  banners banner exchange networks like
